I apologise for error I made during National Anthem – Actress Descushiel
Nigerian actress and singer, Mercy Isoyip, widely recognized as Descushiel, has issued an apology to both the Nigerian populace and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for inaccurately reciting the national anthem during the Conference for Senior Police Officers in Imo State.
Descushiel, who donned a police uniform during the event, gained widespread attention on Monday for faltering while reciting the national anthem.
This prompted criticism from some Nigerians on social media, assuming her to be a policewoman based on her attire.
Nevertheless, in a video posted on her Instagram account on Tuesday, Descushiel expressed regret for her errors, stating, “I sincerely apologise for the error I made during the recital of the National Anthem, I know such errors are inexcusable,” Descushiel said.
“My good people of our country, please accept my apology, as well as my assurance that I will be more careful in the future to prevent such incidents from recurring.”
“God bless the Nigeria Police Force. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
