It was Daniel while in Babylon as a slave, in fulfilment of Jeremiah’s prophecy that the children of Israel would be in servitude for seventy years as a punishment for their neglect of Jehovah, who once sought redemption for his people.
According to Daniel’s report, he said he understood through books that they will spend seventy years in captivity. When the seventy years were over from his calculations, he intensified his prayers, remembering God that they have served their sentence, hence it is no longer just for them to remain in captivity.
Reports have it that it was in answer to the prayers of Daniel that the Lord touched the heart of King Cyrus who first instructed that the temple in Jerusalem be rebuilt. That assignment was spearheaded by Ezra, the priest.
Thereafter, the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem which was later followed by full restoration of the Jews to their land was spearheaded by Nehemiah.
If Ezra and Nehemiah had tried to embark on that rebuilding expedition when the sentence from God had not been fulfilled it would have been efforts in futility.
Nigeria is on the verge to give birth to a new era. The moral decadence and wanton corruption we are currently experiencing have been foretold decades ago by Pa Elton. (You can do your research on this.)
The cycle of the prophecy has been completed and the second phase, which is the phase of revival and redemption is about to be birthed. This nation will be known again for righteousness and truth, and all those who have denied their citizenship and cursed God for making them Nigerian will run back asking for mercy.
It is quite a pity that some people are not sensitive to these spiritual realities and are still neck-deep in support of the old order that is about to be swept away. While many in wonder are asking; “can these things be?”
These are not mere predictions, the one who rules from the heavens has opened the vista long ago to those who have paid the price to gain access into time, and these things have been foretold. It is to prepare our hearts as believers and to comfort us knowing that the challenges are temporal.
A new Nigeria is rising, and all those who are happy to see it will rejoice in it!
