Wisdom Tonic: The Winning Attitude -4
Intuition!
Sometime last year, my boy got into a commercial cab in Benin City and was the only passenger at the back, with the driver and another passenger in front.
The cab needed extra three passengers at the back, but the driver kept going without stopping for passengers along the road.
After he had passed where usually have huge traffic and a very busy market, still without picking any passengers, the other passenger in front, who was not a passenger but an accomplice, brought out a gun and robbed my boy at gunpoint.
He had all the signs and opportunities to avoid that sad event if only he was intuitive enough. He paid no attention to his surroundings and read no meaning to the drive without picking up other passengers. He was not discerning!
Most people live life like that, without intuition. Some people have grown so mentally lazy to the extent that they don’t even recall the experiences of other people when they are going through a similar situation. This makes them be a perpetual victim of avoidable dangerous patterns.
How do you know people with low intuition?
They hardly act on their initiative without someone else giving them instructions.
They are always seeking advice on everything.
And if you counsel them today, and the same thing happens again a month time, they will come again to ask for another advice. They have lost confidence in their ability to make the right decision.
This is a dangerous situation that must be remedied early enough. This is why parents are advised to teach their children to make certain informed decisions and to stick with the consequences if the results turns out unfavourable.
By so doing, they are groomed on decision-making processes, and also their intuition is being developed.
This can also be achieved by explaining to your children why you want them to make certain choices.
Your little boy wants to pick a white pair of jeans and you are insisting he picks a dark blue or a black one, without letting him know that washing the white jean which would always get stained easily would be cumbersome.
The boy might be bullied by you and succumb to your wish, but he won’t learn how colours of clothes are picked because of ease of maintenance.
I hope you got the lessons?
Train yourself and develop good intuition!
Above all, learn to trust your instinct!
Enjoy your weekend.
