Members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Solution Assembly, are set for an exciting climax to the “Jesus on the Football Pitch” Season 2 Football Tournament as Park FC battles Jesus Is King FC in the grand finale scheduled for Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The much-anticipated encounter, according to the tournament organisers, will take place at the Car Park C Field by 3:00 p.m., with football lovers, church members, youths and supporters expected to witness an atmosphere of sportsmanship, entertainment and Christian unity.
Organisers described the competition as more than just a football tournament, noting that the initiative was designed to use sports as a platform for youth engagement, evangelism and the promotion of godly values.
Speaking ahead of the final showdown, members of the organising committee said both finalists had displayed exceptional determination and teamwork throughout the competition, earning their places in the final after weeks of intense matches.
To further raise the stakes, the organisers announced attractive cash prizes for the top three teams. The winner of the tournament will go home with a grand prize of N700,000, while the runners-up will receive N500,000 and the third-place team will pocket N200,000.
In addition to the team prizes, consolation awards will also be presented to outstanding individual performers, including the Best Player of the Tournament, Highest Goal Scorer and Best Goalkeeper.
The organisers added that the winning team would be crowned champion and “lift the glory,” while urging residents and football enthusiasts to come out in large numbers to support the event.
The football fiesta is being organised in partnership with Megastar Media Communications, owned by celebrity journalist and media consultant, Dr. Adeniyi Ifetayo.
Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Ifetayo stated that the partnership formed part of the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility aimed at giving youths a platform to showcase their talents and positively engage society through sports.
He further disclosed that several reputable media organisations would be on ground to provide extensive coverage of the grand finale.
The tournament, themed “Playing for His Glory,” has continued to attract attention on social media, with followers receiving updates through the church’s online platforms.
