The RegTech Africa 2026 conference and expo is set to begin on May 20 in Abuja, bringing together policymakers, technology experts, financial institutions, regulators, and innovators to discuss the future of regulatory technology across Africa.
Organisers said this year’s edition will focus on the theme of “regulatory technology for the common good,” with discussions expected to explore how digital innovation can improve governance, compliance, financial inclusion, cybersecurity, and public sector efficiency.
The multi-day event will feature keynote sessions, exhibitions, panel discussions, startup showcases, and policy dialogues aimed at strengthening collaboration between government agencies, fintech companies, investors, and international regulatory bodies.
Industry leaders are expected to examine the role of artificial intelligence, blockchain, digital identity systems, data protection frameworks, and automated compliance tools in addressing evolving regulatory challenges within Africa’s digital economy.
Participants will also discuss how RegTech solutions can support transparency, reduce financial crimes, improve consumer protection, and enhance trust in emerging digital financial systems across the continent.
Stakeholders say the conference reflects Nigeria’s growing role as a leading hub for fintech and digital innovation in Africa, as regulators and technology firms increasingly work together to balance innovation with effective oversight and public interest protections.
