With PH Refinery, Petrol Price Is N75 Higher Than Dangote.
The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria has expressed concern over the disparity in petrol prices at the Port Harcourt Refinery and the Dangote Refinery.
Speaking during the reopening ceremony of the refinery on Tuesday, the association’s Public Relations Officer, Dr. Joseph Obele, revealed that petrol from the newly reopened Port Harcourt Refinery is priced at N1,045 per litre, N75 higher than the N970 per litre sold by Dangote Refinery.
While the Port Harcourt Refinery, now operating at 60,000 barrels per day, is expected to boost local production and reduce imports, the pricing gap raises concerns about market competitiveness and affordability.
Obele lauded the Federal Government for revitalizing the refinery thereby stabilizing pricing in the downstream petroleum sector.
He further urged the government to address these disparities to maximize the benefits of increased domestic refining capacity.
