NNPC Limited Brings Escravos–Lagos Pipeline To Full Activity

NNPC Limited has announced the successful restoration of the Escravos–Lagos Pipeline System (ELPS) in Warri, Delta State, following an unexpected explosion on December 10, 2025.
In a statement, the company said it promptly activated its emergency response protocols, deploying coordinated containment measures and mobilising multidisciplinary teams to address the incident. The damaged section of the pipeline was repaired, pressure-tested, and safely recommissioned, leading to the full restoration of operations.
NNPC Limited described the swift recovery as a testament to its resilience and unwavering commitment to national energy security.
The company acknowledged that the achievement was made possible through the strong support of host communities, the guidance of regulatory authorities, the vigilance of security agencies, and the dedication of its partners and staff. According to the statement, this collective effort ensured that operations were restored in record time while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
As operations resume, NNPC Limited reaffirmed its commitment to environmental protection, community safety, and the integrity and reliability of its assets, stressing its resolve to continue delivering sustainable energy solutions for Nigeria and beyond.
