Mr Dennis Aideloje, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Manager, Rite Foods Limited; with Dr. Chinedu Azih, Chief Executive Officer of Kazih Kits Limited, Sustainability Partner of Rite Foods Limited; and students of Opebi Senior Grammar School, Opebi, Lagos; during the environmental sustainability awareness outreach of Rite Foods Limited, held at Opebi Senior Grammar School on Tuesday, 9th June, 2026, in Lagos.

Rite Foods continues to expand its sustainability efforts through initiatives such as the Waste-Is-Naira (W.I.N.) programme.

Rite Foods climate campaign engages students in sustainability education, tree planting, and recycling awareness across Lagos and Ogun

Rite Foods Limited, a leading Nigerian food and beverage company, has taken its climate action campaign to schools in Lagos and Ogun States as part of activities marking the 2026 World Environment Day. GeographicReference

The company engaged students, teachers, and community stakeholders at Opebi Senior Grammar School, Ikeja, Lagos, and Moslem Primary School, Ososa, Ogun State, through environmental education, tree planting, and recycling awareness programmes.

The Rite Foods climate campaign focused on promoting sustainable living, responsible waste management, water conservation, and environmental stewardship among young people.

The initiative, tagged ‘Plant the Future’, featured interactive sessions designed to help students understand the importance of protecting the environment and adopting eco-friendly habits.

Speaking during the outreach, the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods Limited, Ekuma Eze, said environmental responsibility must begin with awareness and education.

He noted that climate change remains a major global challenge, requiring deliberate action from organisations, communities, and individuals.

“Environmental sustainability begins with awareness and responsibility. By catching them young and teaching them the importance of protecting the environment, they become ambassadors of positive change within their homes and communities,” Eze said.

He added that Rite Foods continues to expand its sustainability efforts through initiatives such as the Waste-Is-Naira (W.I.N.) programme, launched in partnership with RecyclePoints.

The programme allows residents to exchange used plastic bottles and beverage cans for cash while supporting responsible waste management and circular economy practices.

Also speaking, the Health, Safety and Environment Manager at Rite Foods Limited, Timilehin Ajibola, stressed the connection between environmental protection, community development, and sustainable growth.

“Our goal is to remain in business for the next century and beyond. Achieving that requires collective responsibility in protecting our environment through simple actions such as conserving water, disposing of waste properly, and planting trees,” Ajibola said.

A key highlight of the Lagos engagement was a practical recycling session facilitated by Kazih Kits Limited, Rite Foods’ sustainability partner.

The session introduced students to innovative ways of converting discarded materials into useful products while demonstrating the economic value of recycling.

The Chief Executive Officer of Kazih Kits Limited, Dr Chinedu Azih, said recycling provides solutions to environmental challenges while creating social and economic opportunities.

She explained that materials often considered waste can be transformed into useful items that support education and reduce pollution.

The Head Teacher of Moslem Primary School, Ososa, Lawal Oladele, praised the initiative, describing environmental education as important in raising responsible future citizens.

Oladele said the knowledge gained by pupils would extend beyond the classroom as they share environmental awareness with their families and communities.

The World Environment Day outreach reinforces Rite Foods Limited’s Corporate Social Responsibility framework covering Education, Youth Empowerment, Environmental Stewardship, and Community Development.

The company said the initiative reflects its commitment to long-term climate action through education, innovation, and community participation.
