    Dr Osahon Hosa Okunbo

    By Dr Adeniyi Ifetayo

Birthdays offer more than an opportunity to count the passing years; they provide a moment to celebrate a life of purpose, reflect on the footprints of greatness, and honour the extraordinary individuals whose presence makes the world a better place.

Today, as Dr. Osahon Hosa Okunbo celebrates another year, we celebrate not merely a successful entrepreneur, but a man whose vision, generosity, dynamism and commitment to humanity continue to inspire hope and open doors of opportunity for others.

Osahon Okunbo is a rare blend of youthful energy, intellectual depth, entrepreneurial courage and uncommon compassion. He represents a generation of Nigerian leaders who understand that true greatness is not measured solely by the height of personal achievements, the size of business interests or the weight of material possessions, but by the lives touched, opportunities created and enduring legacies established along the journey.

Behind his impressive achievements is a man with a heart of gold, whose passion for excellence is matched by his willingness to empower others.

His story reflects the conviction that success becomes more meaningful when it creates room for others to rise, dream boldly and fulfil their potential.

As Founder and Chairman of Vetrinox Capital, an investment holding company operating across infrastructure and allied sectors in Nigeria and other parts of Africa, Osahon has demonstrated remarkable entrepreneurial foresight and strategic leadership.

With over 15 years of leadership experience, he has continued to pursue opportunities that speak to the future, combining innovation, investment and a long-term vision of sustainable growth.

His entrepreneurial journey reflects the determination of a man who sees possibilities where others see limitations and understands that building enduring enterprises requires courage, discipline and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

The recent recognition of Vetrinox Capital with the Megastar Cross-Border Healthcare Innovation Investment Award at the Megastar Man of the Decade Awards 2026 further underscores the company’s contribution to investment and innovation.

It is a fitting acknowledgement of the vision and enterprise behind an organisation committed to exploring opportunities with transformative potential.

Yet, beyond the boardroom and the world of investment, Osahon’s interests reveal a deeper understanding of what it means to build a nation. He recognises that economic prosperity and cultural development are complementary pillars of a society’s progress.

Through The Osahon Okunbo Foundation (TOOF), he has established a philanthropic platform dedicated to advancing African creativity and strengthening the institutions that sustain artistic expression.

The Foundation supports initiatives across visual arts, film, performance and creative education, reflecting a belief that culture is not merely a reflection of society but a powerful force capable of shaping its identity, preserving its heritage and inspiring future generations.

His service on the board of Nigeria’s National Theatre, now known as the Wole Soyinka Centre for Culture and the Creative Arts, demonstrates his commitment to repositioning cultural institutions as vibrant spaces for talent development, artistic exploration and national renewal.

His involvement with Write Good Stories, The Children’s Art Gallery and the G.A.S. Foundation further illustrates a consistent dedication to nurturing emerging voices, encouraging early creative expression and promoting international cultural exchange.

In the film industry, his credit as an executive producer of Clarissa, a feature-film adaptation of Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway, which secured global distribution through NEON, represents another dimension of his engagement with the creative economy.

These initiatives demonstrate that Osahon is not simply interested in bringing talented people into the same room; he is helping to create the platforms, partnerships and institutions through which talent can flourish.

He understands that a young person’s dream requires more than encouragement. It needs access, mentorship, investment and an environment in which potential can mature into achievement.

In this regard, his contributions represent an investment in the future of African creativity and the thousands of young people who stand to benefit from a stronger, more inclusive creative ecosystem.

Perhaps one of Osahon Okunbo’s most admirable qualities is his ability to connect generations, bringing the wisdom of experience into conversation with the energy and aspirations of youth.

He represents a bridge between established institutions and emerging talents, between dreams and possibilities, and between the promise of today and the achievements of tomorrow.

His leadership reminds us that the greatest leaders do not merely occupy positions of influence; they create pathways for others to follow. They do not simply accumulate achievements; they inspire others to discover their own capacity for greatness.

For us in the Fourth Estate of the Realm, celebrating Osahon is an acknowledgement of the value of leadership that combines enterprise with empathy, ambition with generosity, and personal success with a genuine commitment to the common good.

He is a man whose influence extends beyond professional accomplishments into the realm of human relationships, philanthropy and institution-building.

His life offers a compelling reminder that the most enduring legacies are those built not only with wealth and influence, but also with kindness, integrity and a sincere desire to make a difference.

As he celebrates another birthday, we salute his courage to dream, his discipline to build and his generosity to empower. We celebrate the young, dynamic and innovative businessman whose accomplishments continue to affirm that age is no barrier to vision, and that greatness is measured not by the years one has lived, but by the value one adds to the lives of others.

On this special day, our prayer is that Almighty God will continue to bless Dr. Osahon Osa Okunbo with sound health, renewed strength, divine wisdom and greater accomplishments. May He enlarge his coast, protect his dreams, strengthen his enterprises and grant him the grace to accomplish even greater things in the years ahead.

May every seed of kindness he has planted blossom into extraordinary testimonies. May the doors he has opened for others lead to even greater opportunities, and may his journey continue to inspire generations yet unborn.

May his life be filled with peace, joy, favour and the fulfilment that comes from knowing that one’s presence has made a meaningful difference.

As you step into another glorious year, may your light shine brighter, your vision soar higher and your legacy grow stronger.

    Happy Birthday, Osa!

    Happy Birthday, Megawatt!

    Happy Birthday, Dr. Osahon Okunbo!

May your years ahead be greater than those behind, and may your name continue to be associated with excellence, generosity, innovation and enduring legacies.
