Maltina pledges to nourish over 1 million students, rolls out new 25cl and 50cl PET bottles

Maltina, Nigeria’s leading malt drink, has officially unveiled its new 25cl and 50cl PET bottle variants as part of a bold Back-to-School campaign themed “Nourishment Fit for You.” The launch, held on Thursday, 28 August 2025, at the Lagos Marriott Hotel in Lagos, marks a significant step in Maltina’s mission to nourish families, support learners and celebrate the teachers who inspire them.

The two new PET variants reflect Maltina’s commitment to meeting consumer needs with choice and accessibility. The 25cl PET bottle has been created with children in mind, perfectly sized for lunchboxes and snack breaks, while still delivering the same rich Maltina taste and essential nourishment. The 50cl PET bottle offers 20% more Maltina than the 33cl, giving consumers extra volume and extra value, without any compromise on quality.

Speaking at the launch, Sarah Agha, Marketing Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc, said, “For over 49 years, Maltina has been more than just a drink. It has been about sharing happiness, building moments, and fueling togetherness across generations. Now, as we enter our Golden Jubilee year, we are not only celebrating where we’ve come from but also deepening our promise for the future. Because happiness alone is not enough — it must also be nourished. That is the spirit behind our renewed focus: Nourishment Fit for You. We understand that every Nigerian’s life is unique, so we’ve made Maltina more accessible in pack sizes that fit every lifestyle: 25cl, 33cl, and 50cl PET bottles. Each one delivers true nourishment, and beyond innovation on shelves, we are expanding nourishment into communities. Through our back-to-school tour, we are pledging to reach one million students nationwide, continuing a legacy of impact that also lives in initiatives like the Maltina Teacher of the Year.”

Highlighting Maltina’s commitment to meeting consumer needs while driving meaningful impact, Elohor Olumide-Awe, Portfolio Manager, Non-Alcoholic Drinks, Nigerian Breweries Plc, stated, “With the new 25cl and 50cl PET bottles, Maltina is stepping into that moment with solutions that fit. The 25cl provides children with the nourishment they need to excel in school, while the 50cl offers families and young people more of the Maltina they love. In furtherance of our commitment to impact, this school season, we will nourish one million students across Nigeria, ensuring they start the term energised and motivated to succeed because nourishment is not a moment but a journey, and every child deserves the energy to learn and succeed.”

The 2024 Maltina Teacher of the Year, Esomnofu Chidiebube, praised the brand’s long-standing commitment to education, and the Back-to-School campaign, saying, “As a teacher, nothing gives me greater joy than seeing a brand like Maltina commit not only to nourishing students but also to celebrating educators. The truth is, effective learning cannot happen without proper nourishment. With this Back-to-School campaign, Maltina is showing that they understand the real foundation of our future: healthy children who are ready to learn, and teachers who are empowered to guide them.”

Through this campaign and a nationwide back-to-school nourishment tour, Maltina is set to nourish over one million students, engage families with meaningful moments, and continue to celebrate teachers as nation-builders, reinforcing its position as the malt brand that delivers nourishment fit for every Nigerian.
