NECO has released 2024 SSSCE External Results, records 65% credit pass in English, Maths

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2024 Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) for external candidates.

The results showcased a marked improvement in the council’s processing efficiency and a decline in examination malpractice cases.

Speaking at the announcement, NECO’s Registrar and Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Wushishi, disclosed that 57,114 candidates secured credit passes in both English Language and Mathematics, representing a 67.53% success rate.

In total, 86,067 candidates sat for the examination across various centres nationwide.

One of the most notable aspects of this year’s results is the reduction in cases of malpractice.

According to Professor Wushishi, 6,160 candidates were involved in various forms of malpractice, marking a 27.7% decrease compared to the figures recorded in 2023.

The decline reflects the council’s intensified efforts to curb academic dishonesty through stricter monitoring and enhanced security measures during examinations.

In addition to improvements in exam integrity, NECO also demonstrated efficiency in result processing, as the 2024 SSCE external results were released just 62 days after the final examination.

This is a notable achievement for the council, which has consistently sought to shorten result turnaround time for the benefit of candidates.

Candidates who sat for the examination can now access their results through the NECO official website by entering their registration numbers and examination details.
