CIG Group, Owners of GAC Motors, Join Forces with Davido to Bring Afrobeats Home With The Five Alive City Tour

    Davido with the GAC S8

One of Africa’s biggest Afrobeats artists, Davido, is bringing the sound home with the Five Alive Tour, a groundbreaking nationwide campaign across Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Enugu, Ibadan and Lagos.

It marks one of the first times that a member of Afrobeats’ “Big Three” is touring Nigeria at full scale, not as a stop between international shows but as a deliberate celebration of local fans, cities and culture.

Partnering with GAC Motor Nigeria, powered by CIG Motors Co. Ltd, Davido’s journey fuses rhythm and road, performance and engineering, as GAC drives the movement of people, passion and possibility across the country with the luxurious GN8, the commanding GS8, and the visionary electric vehicle AionY, in a journey that celebrates excellence, ambition and the evolving pulse of modern Africa.

    Driving Culture, Not Just Cars

CIG Group has earned a reputation as one of Nigeria’s strongest corporate supporters of creativity. Beyond its role in the automotive industry, the company has become a cultural partner and creative enabler, understanding that mobility powers both commerce and culture.

For years, GAC Motors has been a visible presence in music, fashion, film and art. From sponsoring film premieres to supporting high-profile red-carpet events, the brand has consistently stood behind Nigeria’s most dynamic creators. Each activation reflects a belief that innovation is not only mechanical but deeply human.

“We believe in mobility that moves people and purpose,” said Chief Diana Chen, Chairman of CIG Group. “Davido represents a generation of Nigerians who are fearless, talented and globally respected. This partnership celebrates excellence, innovation and the beauty of motion.”

When a Wedding Stopped a Nation

The bond between Davido and GAC Motors became part of Nigeria’s cultural history earlier this year during the artist’s wedding to Chioma Rowland. The moment when GAC presented the luxury vehicle Davido gifted to his wife captured the world’s attention and filled millions with pride.

That scene, a symbol of elegance and craftsmanship, transcended the occasion itself. It spoke to something deeper: a shared understanding of what it means to celebrate love, success and the art of living beautifully. The partnership that began there has now evolved into one of the most exciting cultural collaborations in the country’s history.

The GAC GN8 and S8: Exclusivity in Motion

Throughout the Davido Five Tour, Davido will travel in the GAC GN8 and G8, a vehicle that embodies the brand’s philosophy of power, grace and comfort. With its serene cabin, refined design and commanding presence, the is a fitting companion for a man who has taken Afrobeats from Lagos to the world.

Alongside the GN8, the GAC S8 represents another dimension of innovation. Its sharp lines, intelligent performance and regal aesthetic make it a beacon of modern engineering. Both vehicles symbolise the balance of confidence and creativity that defines GAC Motors’ approach to mobility.

“Davido is the first of Nigeria’s Big Three to bring Afrobeats home at this scale,” said Jubril Arogundade, Executive Director of CIG Group. “This collaboration is creating history. It unites technology, culture and inspiration in a way that speaks directly to the heart of the Nigerian people.”

The Mystery Experience That Will Touch Every City

Beyond the music and lights, CIG Group and GAC Motors have promised a mystery experience that will unfold across the five tour cities. Details remain confidential, but the initiative is described as something designed to connect emotionally with Nigerians everywhere the tour stops.

It will highlight the company’s belief that mobility is not only about vehicles but about vision, the ability to move people, empower communities and create memories that endure. The experience will reinforce GAC’s role as a partner in the nation’s creative and social evolution.

GAC in Art, Film and Music

GAC Motors has built a deep and ongoing relationship with the arts. Its vehicles have transported stars to movie premieres, powered music video productions and supported some of Africa’s most influential creative events. The brand has become synonymous with sophistication, reliability and cultural relevance.

With this new partnership, GAC unites its achievements in film, music and design under one campaign. Its range, from the luxurious GN8 and S8 to the visionary AionY, the new electric superstar, embodies a clear message that the future of driving in Africa is both aspirational and sustainable.

“We are lovers of art, culture and music,” said Chief Diana Chen. “We believe in working with creators, supporting their vision and helping them reach new heights. Art and innovation must move together, and that is what this partnership stands for.”

    Davido: Bringing Afrobeats Home

For more than a decade, Davido has been a cultural bridge between Africa and the world. His influence has carried Afrobeats to international stages, global charts and millions of fans. Through this partnership, he now returns that energy home, using the Davido Five Tour to celebrate the people and places that shaped his journey.

With GAC Motors providing the vehicles and infrastructure that move the tour, Davido is demonstrating that global success and national pride can travel together. This collaboration redefines how music and mobility can inspire a country.
