Nigerian media mogul Mo Abudu is set to deepen her global influence as the EbonyLife brand prepares to launch EbonyLife Place London, a major cultural and creative hub dedicated to amplifying African storytelling and entrepreneurship in the United Kingdom. The new venture, situated in the heart of London, is designed as a multi-purpose space that will serve as a meeting point for filmmakers, content creators, investors, and creatives of African descent. The project reflects EbonyLife’s long-standing mission to project authentic African narratives onto the global stage while creating sustainable opportunities within the creative economy. Speaking on the development, Abudu emphasized that the initiative is more than just a physical space, describing it as “a home for African creatives in the diaspora and a bridge connecting talent from Africa to the rest of the world.” She added that the hub would foster collaboration, innovation, and access to global markets, noting that “the time has come for African stories to take their rightful place at the center of global conversations.” EbonyLife Place London is expected to host film screenings, industry events, training programmes, and business incubation initiatives aimed at nurturing emerging talent while supporting established creators. The facility will also provide networking opportunities for stakeholders across film, television, fashion, and digital media. Industry analysts say the move signals a strategic expansion of EbonyLife’s footprint beyond Nigeria and reinforces the growing global appetite for African content. By establishing a permanent presence in one of the world’s leading creative capitals, the brand is positioning itself as a key player in shaping how African stories are produced, distributed, and consumed internationally. The launch marks another milestone in EbonyLife’s evolution from a Nigerian-based media company into a globally recognized creative powerhouse, underscoring Abudu’s vision of building platforms that not only tell African stories but also empower the people behind them.

Jay Moni’s Passion For Less Privileged Revealed

    Jay Moni

Jay Moni’s passion for the less privileged comes to light as he remembers the legacy left by his father.

Rising music artist with Wayward Boiz, Chris Ogar (aka Jay Moni), revealed on Friday that his passion is touching lives with the little he has been blessed with.

Jay Moni, as he is fondly called, while making this known, explained that he is also doing this to mark the 10th burial anniversary of his late father, Mr Raphael Ogar, who hailed from Itega Ekpudu, Okpoma, Yala local government area of Cross River, for the enduring legacies he left behind for his children while he was alive.

Meanwhile, on this special mission to turn around the darkened hope and gloom faces of vulnerable Nigerians in Okpoma, headquarters of Yala local government area of Cross River State, Jay Moni and his thick entourage, including the media and community members, visited an orphanage, Divine Providence Home, Ogoja, to identify with them with surprise packages including foodstuff, toiletries, packs of detergents, noodles, rice and other items, which he handed over to the management of the home as his support to them and the children.

He and his entourage earlier were at the Ogoja Correctional Centre of the Nigerian Correctional Service, where he expressed and displayed love and compassionate concern. Jay Moni presented food items to the officers and inmates and also went as far as clearing fines some inmates could not pay to regain their freedom. Hence, he became their succorer, as he met the demands presented by the inmates, including clippers and generator sets. Others were solar lights to help pump water and medicine for their treatment, and this gesture made the entire correctional facility erupt in unprecedented joy and excitement.

He also proceeded to the General Hospital, Okpoma, where he went to the patients to encourage them each in their sick beds, and did not stop at that but immediately paid medical bills for many indigent patients, including medical bills of patients with cellulitis (a skin disease), delivery through CS and a male patient suffering from Pelvic Ulcer Disorder (PUD). His team also stopped at the Health Centre in Okpoma, cleared the medical bills of the only patient, and showed love to medical officials.

Jay Moni’s passion for the less privileged comes to light as he remembers the legacy left by his father.

He said: “As Ogoja, Yala and Cross River boy, I have been doing a lot of charity out there in other states over the years, and this time around, I felt it’s time to come down home to touch the lives of the people and where I come from.

“What really inspired is my past, when we couldn’t feed as expected and talk more of now comparing with back then.

“You see, our economy is down, and it has made a whole lot of things happening, which people get involved just to survive, including a lot of crimes, and in my own little way, which is not that I have much that God has blessed me and the only way is to give back to society because I don’t think there is no charm or thing that is more than giving to the society.

“I am just passionate and concerned about giving back to my community because my community is down. It is not that my community did anything for me, but this is where I come from, and it is from my heart.

“We are here at the Ogoja Correctional Centre in Cross River State, where I have handed over some food items and other essential needs for the inmates, and they are very excited. Nothing is more than making people who had lost hope regain hope and joy as they laugh, sing and dance, and basically, it is done to the glory of God in fulfilment of His command.

“From here, we are going to the orphanage and also to the General Hospital in Okpoma, where all other packages to intervene in the lives of the people would be handed over to them.”

Also, he disclosed, “We are into music, lifestyle and fashion, including artist mentorship and development, hotels, real estate, making videos, lines of clothing, and other legitimate businesses.”

As part of activities marking 10 years since his father’s burial, he was one of the spectators who watched the finals of a football tournament to celebrate the anniversary in honour of his late father. The finals were played by G Fortune Football Club of Ogoja LGA and Golden Age Football Club of Yala LGA, and G Fortune won 5 – 3 in a penalty kick.
