The Lagos State Government has officially reinstated the monthly environmental sanitation exercise, set to commence on Saturday, April 25, across Lagos. According to the announcement, the exercise will take place on the last Saturday of every month between 6:30 AM and 8:30 AM. Unlike previous years, residents and commuters will not face any movement restrictions during the sanitation period. Authorities say the initiative is part of renewed efforts to promote cleaner surroundings, improve public health, and encourage collective responsibility in maintaining the city’s environment. Residents are expected to actively participate by cleaning their homes, surroundings, and drainage systems. The government also emphasized that while there will be no lockdown of movement, compliance and community participation remain essential to achieving the desired environmental impact.
