However, the capacity to trust and feel safe with your partner will form the basis for giving and receiving love back in return. Trust can hold everything in place in a marriage as it is the essential element in sustaining a strong and healthy relationship. Couples who value trust are less anxious about their own conduct and more focused on learning how to accommodate each other’s values and sharing their dreams and aspirations, knowing that they are on the same page.

Deal breakers are like boundaries that you put in place to safeguard yourself and your marriage and it may also take a few practices and discrepancies before you are able to identify some deal breakers. Trust is known to be the biggest deal breaker in many marriages and when it is broken, it can have a devastating impact on a couple and the marriage as a whole and sometimes create a barrier between them due to uncertainty, bitterness and resentment. Perhaps, you can think back at your past relationships and those issues that triggered constant conflicts; these are patterns you may want to set as a deal breaker or simply things that you are not willing to compromise on in your marriage going forward.
Trust is huge responsibility
The Scriptures say, “Can two walk together unless they be agreed?” This is the power of trust in marriage because without trust, the two persons are not likely to agree, which will hinder their journey. Trusting your spouse is knowing that whether you are together or apart, you can always count on each other for love and support. Trust is also a huge responsibility many people take for granted in their marriages, perhaps as a result of their insecurity and fear of losing the man or woman they truly love.
Even though trust is important in a marriage, it can also trigger dishonest behaviour when it is compromised, especially if you or your spouse have experienced some form of disappointment in your past relationships. This can make your relationship very unpredictable, and you begin to walk on eggshells because you have decided to compromise your trust; this can have a significant impact on your emotional well-being and the future of your marriage.
