Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed the most precious gift they received from Nigeria was the warm hospitality of the people

Prince Harry stressed the importance of the royal family connecting with the rest of the world and supporting causes close to their hearts

During their trip to Nigeria, they met with injured troops and visited local charities.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, while on their visit to Nigeria received dozens of gifts from the Nigerian people, including clothes, jewelry, and literature, as seen in the Hindustan Times publication.

Of these gifts, however, the Duchess of Sussex revealed that the most precious one was the hospitality of the people. “It was such warm hospitality and it was a really meaningful trip,” the Duchess stated.

“It was incredibly memorable and special. That alone is the best souvenir to take with us — all the memories we’ve made,” she added.

On the other hand, Prince Harry had nothing but good things to say about the trip. On that note, he stressed the importance of the royal family connecting to the rest of the world “Always nice to be on the move, in a sense, but also these trips are about us being able to go out and go and focus on the things that mean so much to us and support the causes that are close to our heart,” the prince stated.

“There’s only so much one can do from home and over Zoom, so we look forward to traveling more because the work matters. Whether it’s the Archewell Foundation, Invictus, or any of our other causes, there will always be reasons to meet the people at the heart of our work,” he added.

Prince Harry and Meghan arrived in Nigeria on Friday 10th of May for a three-day special visit. They met with injured troops and visited local charities. Upon arrival, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended their first engagement, which was held at a school in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
