A Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to 75 years imprisonment over a ₦33.8 billion fraud case.
Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Wednesday, handing down separate sentences on multiple counts, which cumulatively amount to 75 years behind bars.
The court ruled that the jail terms will run consecutively and stated that the sentence would begin from the date Mamman is arrested.
Justice Omotosho also directed all security agencies, including Interpol, to arrest the former minister wherever he is found.
In addition, the court ordered that all funds and properties recovered from the convict be forfeited to the Federal Government.
The judge further directed Mamman to refund the outstanding balance from the ₦22 billion linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
