The former political leaders in Rivers State have started showing that they are no longer rivals as the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara made an appearance on Saturday at the burial ceremony of the uncle of the Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike.
Present also at the burial event for the deceased, Elder Temple Omezurike Onuoha, which held at Rumuepirikom, Rivers State, was the suspended Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and an ally of Wike, Martin Amaewhule.
According to a post with several photos shared on Facebook by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka, said, ” Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, alongside the Governor Siminalayi Fubara, and Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule at the burial of Wike’s Uncle in Rumuepirikom, Rivers State today.”
The burial event, seemingly marked a significant moment in the state’s politics as it came a few days after the reconciliation meeting brokered by President Bola Tinubu.
After the meeting reconciliation meeting on Thursday night, Wike had expressed optimism about the future of Rivers State.
He said, “We have all agreed to work together with the governor, and the governor also agreed to work together with all of us. We are members of the same political family.”
Fubara had also echoed Wike’s sentiments even as he appreciated Tinubu for his intervention.
