GNI Building Fire: LASEMA Opens Help Desk as Search Continues

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has opened a Help Desk to receive and address reports of persons missing following the fire outbreak at the 25-storey Great Nigeria Insurance (GNI) Building on Martins Street, Lagos Island.
The Agency expressed deep condolences to families who lost loved ones in the tragic incident and prayed for strength and comfort for those affected.
According to LASEMA, the Help Desk is located at the incident site to assist individuals whose relatives are believed to have been trapped in the building at the time of the fire. Information provided will be verified and documented to compile a consolidated list of missing persons, which will support ongoing rescue, recovery, and identification efforts.
Emergency responders are continuing intensive search and rescue operations at the scene to ensure that no one is left unaccounted for.
LASEMA noted that it is working closely with relevant emergency response, health, and security agencies to ensure a coordinated and orderly operation. The Agency reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property and assured the public of regular updates as the situation develops.
Members of the public have been advised to remain calm, cooperate with emergency officials, and stay away from the incident area to allow responders carry out their duties effectively.
