Kemi Badenoch: I Rejected God For Not Answering Someone In Grave Danger

UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has said that her faith in God ended when she realized that He was responding to her silly prayers and setting aside the plea from someone in grave danger.

Recently she revealed that God answered her trivial prayers and failed to respond to a girl who had been held captive for more than 20 years.

Badenoch shared how Josef Fritzl, an Austrian man, kept his daughter imprisoned for 24 years in an underground dungeon in his house, she said that she lost faith in her Creator after finding out that the man’s victim remained in captivity despite praying to God every single day.

While speaking during a BBC interview, the politician disclosed that though she continued to identify as a Christian, she stopped believing in God.

The party leader stated that she simply felt bad to know that the young girl’s prayer went unanswered when she needed God the most.

Admitting that her own prayers were silly compared to the imprisoned girl, Kemi added that the latter should have been a clear priority for God at the time.

“I couldn’t stop reading this story. And I read her account, how she prayed every day to be rescued. And I thought, I was praying for all sorts of stupid things, and I was getting my prayers answered.

I was praying to have good grades, my hair should grow longer, and I would pray for the bus to come on time so I wouldn’t miss something. It’s like, why were those prayers answered, and not this woman’s prayers? And it was like someone blew out a candle.

I rejected God, not Christianity. So, I would still define myself as a cultural Christian,” she said.
