    • Morocco was chosen as host of GITEX Africa for 2024.

    • GIFTY AI’s victory and
Morocco’s selection as host of GITEX Africa are positive developments for the African tech ecosystem.

GIFTY AI, a Nigerian startup that provides an AI-powered sales growth assistant for e-commerce businesses, has won the top prize in the Super Nova Challenge by North Star at GITEX 2023, the world’s largest tech event.

The company’s victory is a significant achievement for both Africa and the global tech community, and it puts Africa on the map as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.

GIFTY AI’s sales growth assistant helps e-commerce businesses to automate their marketing and sales activities so they can focus on growing their business.

The solution is especially beneficial for small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), which often lack the resources to invest in traditional marketing and sales teams.

“Representing Africa in the Middle East was a tough one for me,” said Victor D. Akpan, CEO of GIFTY AI. “But I guess I followed my star from Africa to Expand North Star, Dubai.”

“We are building gifty.com.ng to let the world know that Africa is taking over!”

Morocco Chosen as Host of GITEX Africa for 2024

GITEX Global, the organizer of the world’s largest tech event, has announced that Morocco will host GITEX Africa again in 2024. This marks the second consecutive year that Morocco has been chosen to host the event.
This marks the second consecutive year that Morocco has been chosen to host the event.
Speaking to Business Insider Africa, Trixie Lohmirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, the organizer of GITEX Africa, explained the decision to hold GITEX Africa in Morocco again next year.

“We are delighted to return to Morocco for GITEX Africa 2024,” said Lohmirmand. “Morocco is a rapidly growing tech ecosystem, and we are confident that the event will be another success.”

Trixie Lohmirmand, CEO of KAOUN International and organizer of GITEX AFRICA Morocco, is a leading figure in the global tech industry. She is a passionate advocate for the use of technology to drive social and economic development, and a strong supporter of women in the tech industry.
When asked about the decision to host the event in Morocco instead of Nigeria, the country with the largest tech ecosystem, Lohmirmand explained:

    • “There are very different entry formats into a market and we go where our clients want us to go. When we enter into a market, we want to make sure that we have deep collaboration with the government to deliver the level of standard and the trust that the committee has given to us, and sometimes these things take time. Markets also change and evolve, so it’s not usually straightforward to enter into markets, but we are open to new markets and eager to explore.”

GITEX Africa is a major platform for African startups to showcase their products and services to the global tech community. The event also attracts investors, policymakers, and other key stakeholders from the African tech ecosystem.
