Uber has introduced a new hotel booking feature within its app as part of its strategy to evolve into a comprehensive “everything app.” The service, developed in partnership with Expedia, allows users to search and reserve hotel rooms from a selection of more than 700,000 properties. The feature integrates travel tools such as maps, filters, and pricing options, while enabling payments through saved card details already stored in the Uber platform. According to Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi, the company is expanding beyond ride-hailing and food delivery to become a unified platform for a wide range of everyday services. Expedia CEO Ariane Gorin said the collaboration is aimed at simplifying travel planning and reducing the steps required to complete bookings. Uber also plans to extend the partnership to include short-term rental listings through Vrbo in the future. The move reflects a broader global trend toward multifunctional apps that combine services like transport, shopping, and payments in a single ecosystem, similar to platforms such as WeChat and Alipay in China. Other tech companies are also pursuing similar “super app” models, including Airbnb, which has added experiences and personal services, and X, which is exploring financial services integration. Uber further revealed plans to incorporate AI-powered tools, including meal planning, shopping list creation, delivery coordination, and a voice assistant for navigating the app.

Lady Diana Ereyitomi Eyo-Enoette has been appointed as the Delta State Coordinator of the Young Women Renewed Hope Coalition (YWRHC), a development she described as both an honour and a call to service.

In a statement following her appointment, Eyo-Enoette reflected on the importance of active participation in leadership and societal change, stating, “Continuous Service: Can true difference be made from the sidelines? Sometimes the answer is simple you become the shift you are waiting for.”
She expressed appreciation to the National President of the coalition, Hon. Rinsola Abiola, for the confidence reposed in her, noting that the appointment comes with significant responsibility. “I sincerely appreciate the trust and confidence placed in me by my dear sister, Hon. @rinsolaabiola, our National President,” she said.

Eyo-Enoette also acknowledged the influence of the organisation’s patron, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, whose dedication to public service she said continues to serve as a source of inspiration. “I am also grateful for the guidance and inspiration of our esteemed patron, Hajiya Hadiza Bala Usman, whose commitment to public service continues to inspire many of us,” she added.
Describing her new role as one she does not take lightly, Eyo-Enoette reaffirmed her commitment to advancing the coalition’s objectives in Delta State. She pledged to mobilise and empower young women while amplifying their voices in governance and development processes.

“As we continue to support our dear President, @officialasiwajubat, for a greater Nigeria and with the support of His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, I remain committed to mobilizing, empowering, and amplifying the voices of young women across Delta State,” she stated.
She further emphasised the importance of collective effort in achieving meaningful impact, noting that unity and purposeful engagement would be key to strengthening the participation of young women in nation-building. “Together, through unity, dedication, and purposeful engagement, we will strengthen the participation of young women in nation-building and contribute meaningfully to the Renewed Hope Agenda,” she said.

Eyo-Enoette concluded by expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve, reiterating her dedication to the coalition’s mission in Delta State.
