Sterling HoldCo Recognised For ‘Responsible Workplace Practices’
Sterling Financial Holdings Company Plc (Sterling HoldCo) has been recognised by the Institute for Work and Family Integration (IWFI), in collaboration with Lagos Business School (LBS), for its leadership in responsible workplace practices.
The recognition was announced at the Corporate Family Responsibility Index (CFRI) Awards, which assess organisations on the extent to which they embed family-friendly policies into workplace design, culture and leadership priorities.
According to the organisers, the recognition places Sterling among a select group of organisations demonstrating strong institutional commitment to policies that help employees balance work, family and personal responsibilities.
Sterling HoldCo’s workplace practices include paid maternity and paternity leave, a purpose-built maternity hub, an on-site crèche, flexible work arrangements, comprehensive health insurance, and integrated wellness programmes focused on mental and emotional wellbeing.
The company said these initiatives are aligned with its strategy of enriching lives through life-stage-responsive employee support, particularly around parenthood and caregiving.
Commenting on the recognition, the group executive, Human Capital and Corporate Services, Temi Dalley, said the award reflects the company’s belief that sustainable performance is driven by supportive work environments.
She said the organisation’s structures are built around empathy, flexibility, and employee wellbeing to enable people to perform effectively.
One of the company’s initiatives is Bloom After Bir. This postnatal and postpartum support programme provides employees with access to medical and emotional guidance, as well as support for families that have experienced pregnancy loss.
The Corporate Family Responsibility Index serves as a national benchmarking framework to promote workforce sustainability, inclusion, and long-term organisational effectiveness.
The latest recognition adds to several Great Place To Work awards previously received by Sterling HoldCo and its subsidiaries.
Sterling Financial Holdings Company, through its subsidiaries including Sterling Bank and The Alternative Bank, operates in Nigeria’s financial services sector and focuses on driving sustainable growth, innovation and inclusive economic development.
