Rite Foods Limited, the market leader in the food and beverage industry, powered this year’s Ojude Oba Festival of the Ijebu People of Ogun State, thereby promoting their rich cultural heritage, at the festival held on Sunday, 8th June 2025.

The company with a world-class factory at Ososa, in Ijebu Ososa, Ogun State, has been championing the cause of the Ijebu nation with the sponsorship of the Ojude Oba festival which dates over 100 years, a festive period that attracts over1,000,000 people from different parts of the country, from Yoruba origin and foreigners across the world.

This year’s festival themed ‘Celebrating Our Roots, Preserving Our Future’, was marked with a parade to the palace of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu-land, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, by different cultural age groups known as regberegbe, all in their attractive costumes and riding on horses.

Present at the event were the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun; the Chairman of Rite Foos Limited, Asiwaju Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa; former Governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel; Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelani; the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa; members of the National Assembly, Managing Director/CEO of Rite Foods Limited, Seleem Adegunwa; Diplomats; Traditional Leaders, among others.

Speaking about the event, Adegunwa, stated that the sponsorship of the festival stems from the value the company places on the culture of the Ijebu people, preserving their traditional heritage which brings about unity, love, and harmony and strengthening the peaceful co-existence that is cherished among them for centuries.

He said it is also a testament that it has the interest of the Ijebu people at the core of its mission.

On his part, the Company’s Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Ekuma Eze, affirmed that Rite Foods is passionate about the cultural preservation of the communities within its operations. He said Rite Foods powered the festival because it is a corporate citizen of Ijebu-land, and a proudly Nigerian company, “Whatever is the aspiration of this community is also ours, and we are here to bring it to life. It is an expression of our citizenship, and as every Ijebu citizen is excited to be present, that is how we are here too,” Ekuma said.

In addition to the exciting entertainment were the fascinating performances of the Rite Foods team who were adorned in the outfit of one of the company’s brands, the premium Sosa Fruit Drink, with their uniquely designed green hat during the homage to the Awujale of Ijebu-land. This was accompanied by an acrobatic display that caught the admiration of the special guests and spectators who applauded their intriguing entertainment.

While expressing his gratitude to the sponsors of Ojude Oba and the various cultural groups for their wonderful acts, Ogun State’s Governor, Dapo Abiodun, commended Rite Foods for the immense support of the annual event over the years and described the festival as a significant instrument for stimulating the local economy and enhancing tourism and global recognition.

Governor Abiodun further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of Ijebuland and the unity between the various groups in the area.

In his remarks, the Ondo State Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelani, praised the preservation of the culture which has boosted tourism and has helped in enhancing economic growth. Also, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, said Ojude Oba holds an important place in the country’s cultural history and contributes to the nation’s tourism potential.

She said the country has a rich cultural diversity and that the Federal Government is working with the various regions to boost their distinctiveness.
