Medical Facilities: RCCG Donates Over N110 Billion Worth Project Nationwide

… more than 207 million Nigerians have been impacted.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has disclosed that it has invested more than N110 billion in medical facilities and various social impact initiatives across Nigeria over the past eight years.

The disclosure was made on Thursday at the commissioning of the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex, Wesley Guild Hospital, Ilesa, Osun State.

Speaking at the event, Pastor Kayode Pitan, National Coordinator of RCCG’s Christian Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, said the Church’s interventions have positively impacted over 207 million Nigerians. Pitan was represented by his assistant, Dr. Bayo Olugbemi.

According to him, the new facility in Ilesa is the 13th dialysis centre donated by RCCG across the country. The fully equipped center comprises three dialysis machines, patient beds, a reverse osmosis water purification system, a 30KVA generator, and air conditioning units.

States that have previously benefited from similar donations include the Federal Capital Territory, Bauchi, Ogun (Redemption Camp and Sagamu), Ondo, Oyo, Borno, Enugu, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Anambra, and Osun. The Church has also donated Intensive Care Units (ICUs) to hospitals in Lagos, Plateau, Ondo, and Ogun states.

Representing the General Overseer of the RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Funsho Odesola, expressed concern over the frequent medical tourism among Nigeria’s political leaders.

“It is unfortunate that those who make healthcare policies cannot receive treatment in their own country,” he said. “Pastor E.A. Adeboye is showing an example of what the government should be doing. This is a model of service to the people. Government officials and policymakers should emulate this gesture and invest in the improvement of our healthcare system.”

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. John Okeniyi, emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships in addressing Nigeria’s healthcare challenges. He praised the RCCG’s donation, stating that it reflected global best practices in philanthropy.

“Across the world, individuals and families give back to support medical institutions. I trained in Israel, and the facility where I trained is bigger than this entire hospital, thanks to the contribution of just one family. This initiative by RCCG is a gift to humanity, and it transcends tribe or religion,” he said.

In his remarks, the Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, represented by the Commissioner for Health, Mr. Jola Akintola, commended RCCG and Pastor Adeboye for their unwavering commitment to human welfare.

“We applaud Pastor E.A. Adeboye and the entire RCCG family for their vision, compassion, and continuous investment in the well-being of Nigerians,” the governor said.
