The Chief Executive Officer of Avila Naturalle, Temitope Mayegun, has joined global celebrations of womanhood and motherhood, using the occasions of International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day to highlight the resilience and impact of women in society.
Mayegun, an entrepreneur known for building one of Nigeria’s growing organic skincare brands, was recently recognised among Nigeria’s “100 Inspiring Women” as part of activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day. In a message acknowledging the recognition, she described the honour as a significant milestone and a reflection of the work women continue to do in business and community development.
Speaking during the celebrations, the Avila Naturalle founder emphasised that International Women’s Day is more than a ceremonial date, noting that it represents an opportunity to celebrate “the strength, resilience and achievements of women” who continue to shape families, industries and societies. Messages shared by the company during the period also highlighted the importance of empowering women and encouraging them to lead in different spheres of life.
In remarks associated with Mother’s Day celebrations, Mayegun and the company extended appreciation to mothers for their role in nurturing families and communities, describing motherhood as one of the most powerful expressions of love and sacrifice.
Mayegun, who founded Avila Naturalle after leaving a career in investment banking, has grown the business from a small operation into an internationally distributed brand focused on organic beauty and wellness products. According to previous interviews, she started the company with about ₦30,000 worth of coconuts used to produce natural oils and soaps before expanding into a global distribution network.
Beyond business, the entrepreneur has also positioned herself as an advocate for women’s empowerment, supporting female entrepreneurs through training initiatives and business opportunities linked to the Avila Naturalle distribution network.
Her recognition during International Women’s Day celebrations, observers say, underscores the increasing role of Nigerian female entrepreneurs in shaping the country’s wellness, beauty and small‑business ecosystem while inspiring the next generation of women leaders.
