Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, the Senator representing Ogun West and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, hosted a high-profile thanksgiving service and reception on Saturday, January 3, to celebrate a year of “tangible progress” and legislative achievement.
The event, which drew traditional rulers, industry captains, and political leaders to the Cathedral Church of Christ, Ona-Nla, served as both a religious observance and a summary of the Senator’s developmental impact on the Yewa-Awori axis throughout 2025.
In an address to his constituents, Senator Adeola linked the year’s successes to the support of the people, noting that the progress recorded was a result of collective efforts to overcome local challenges.
“In spite of the challenges faced together, your resilience and belief in progress have continued to inspire our work,” Adeola stated. “Over the past year, we have taken deliberate steps to deliver tangible dividends of democracy across Ogun West, guided by our shared commitment to inclusive development, effective representation and the welfare of our people.”
The Diocesan Bishop, Father Iro, provided the spiritual keynote, commending the Senator’s track record of “progressive engagements” and urging a continued focus on the elevation of the Yewa community.
The festivities moved to the Ilaro Town Hall, where the Senator utilized a photographic exhibition to document the infrastructure and empowerment projects completed during the 2025 fiscal year. The display offered guests a visual account of the “tangible dividends” referenced in his earlier remarks.
The reception featured a blend of cultural and modern entertainment, including performances by the Erimimo cultural group and saxophonist BJ Sax. The event culminated in the cutting of a four-tier thanksgiving cake, signaling a celebratory start to the 2026 legislative year.
As a central figure in the federal government’s fiscal planning, Senator Adeola’s mid-term celebration underscores his fortified political standing in Ogun State as he prepares for the upcoming legislative session.
