The 2025 edition of the prestigious BET awards took place on Monday night at the Peacock theater in Los Angeles.
The stage witnessed the triumph of Nigerian artist, Ayra Starr, as she won her first ever BET award.
Although the self acclaimed sabi girl lost out in the other categories she was nominated in, her win was well deserved and celebrated.
Other Nigerian artists nominated like Tems, Burna Boy, Rema and Shallipopi, unfortunately did not win.
The most decorated artist for the event was Kendrick Lamar as he won five out of his ten nominations.
