FG hosts 3MTT summit to showcase digital talent

The Federal Government is preparing to host the third edition of its 3MTT Impact Summit, a nationwide programme designed to showcase the country’s digital talent and help people turn their ideas into real-world solutions.
The initiative is run by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, in partnership with the National Information Technology Development Agency. Its main goal is to give Nigerians the skills they need to participate in the digital economy and connect them to employment opportunities.
The summit will be staged across six regions. Delta State will host the South-South edition on 28–29 November, while Gombe State will host the North-East on the same dates. Kano will host the North-West edition also on 28–29 November. The South-East event will take place in Enugu on 3–4 December, Lagos will host the South-West edition on 8–9 December, and the North Central edition will be held in Abuja on 10–11 December.
The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, said in a LinkedIn post that “across all six regions in Nigeria, our fellows will present solutions shaped by their communities’ needs. Their work shows that innovation thrives when people are empowered with knowledge and supported by strong ecosystems. The summit is a bridge between learning and industry, between local insights and national impact.”
Top winners from recent hackathons across the country will take the stage at the summit, pitching their solutions to industry leaders, policymakers, investors, and ecosystem partners. The presentations are designed to unlock opportunities for scaling innovative solutions nationwide, addressing challenges in health, agriculture, financial inclusion, climate resilience, education, and more.
Launched in 2023, the 3MTT programme aims to train three million Nigerians in digital skills, including software development, artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity, by 2027. The initiative provides free training and job placement support, with the ultimate goal of creating two million digital jobs by 2025.
Participants will receive recognition through cash awards, mentorship opportunities, networking mixers, and platforms to scale their solutions nationwide. As the 3MTT programme continues to expand from its initial cohort of 30,000 fellows, the summit is expected to demonstrate the transformative impact of democratising digital skills across Nigeria.
