    Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation: Ododo Appoints First Female DG

    The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, on Thursday presented a letter of appointment to the first female DG in his office in Lokoja.

    Governor Usman Ododo of Kogi State has appointed Hajia Yussuff Nana-Hauwa as the first female Director General (DG) of Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, as part of the fulfilment of his promise for women inclusion in his administration.

    The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, on Thursday presented a letter of appointment to the first female DG in his office in Lokoja.

    Fanwo in his speech reiterated that as a Gender Equality Sensitive Governor, Alhaji Ododo being the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has also directed the party to give a good space for women participation highlighting that His Excellency has also slated not less than 40% of the legislative seats at the Local Government level to go to the women; as he also directed that the candidates who emerge to run for the chairmanship seats to nominate women as their running mates.

    The Commissioner commended the outgoing DG, Alhaji Ojo Oyila for his commitment, diligence, hardwork and sacrifice in office stressing that he would always be remembered in the State Broadcasting Corporation (FM 94) as one of the most committed, dedicated, innovative and trusted hands.

    Hon. Fanwo described the new DG as a diligent and fearless woman affirming that she is focused, dedicated, meticulous and innovative expressing his confidence in her ability to take the radio station to the next and higher level.

    The Commissioner charged the new DG to work hand in hand with the Ministry in order to see that the goals, aims and objectives of the corporation are achieved, urging the management and staff of the corporation to cooperate with her.

    Mr. Teddy Adegbola, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry in his remarks expressed confidence in Hajia Nana-Hauwa as he believes that she would perform tremendously well.

    The new DG, Hajia Yussuff Nana-Hauwa in her response appreciated His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for finding her worthy of the enviable position. She also appreciated Hon. Fanwo for his unwavering commitment describing him as a committed, hardworking, innovative and pragmatic leader.

    She promised not to disappoint, adding that she is ready to work assiduously to see that the corporation moves to a higher level.
