Sanwo-Olu dedicates himself to Lagos civil servants’ welfare

Sanwo-Olu dedicates himself to Lagos civil servants’ welfare.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reassured of his administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of civil servants in the state.

While making speech during the inauguration ceremony for the newly elected executive members of the Lagos State Public Service Club in Ikeja on Friday evening, Sanwo-Olu, represented by the Head of Service, Olabode Agoro, pointed to several ongoing efforts aimed at enhancing the productivity and development of the state workforce.

Agoro noted that the government had introduced certain initiatives to support staff well-being and professional growth.

“The recently implemented salary increments demonstrate our commitment to your welfare, ensuring that your contributions are recognised and rewarded.

“It also reflects our dedication to supporting career progression and enhancing job satisfaction across all levels of the service.

“Lagos State Government will always support initiatives that promote a vibrant, efficient, and motivated public service that will continue to build a Lagos that thrives on the dedication and excellence of its workforce,” Agoro stated.

Sanwo-Olu urged the new club executives to embrace innovation and inclusiveness in their leadership.

“As you take your oaths in moments, remember: you’re not just assuming offices, but accepting a covenant with every member here present.

“I charge you to let innovation be the compass that guides your tenure. Seek strategic alliances that will transform the club’s experience.

“Make inclusivity your hallmark. Consider instituting regular town hall meetings where every voice can be heard, where every member, from the newest recruits to the most seasoned officers, feels truly seen and valued,” he said.

In his inaugural address, the new president of the Lagos State Public Service Club, Olukayode Odunuga, assured members that his administration would prioritise their welfare.

He also shared the progress already made since assuming office over 100 days ago.

“Tonight, as we usher in a new chapter in the history of Lagos State Public Service Club, I reaffirm my pledge to work tirelessly with the executive council and all members to elevate this club to even greater heights.

“Our vision is clear: to foster unity, promote social and professional networking, and enhance the overall well-being of our members through innovative initiatives and infrastructural development.

“In line with this vision, we have embarked on key projects, including the modernisation of our facilities, the introduction of digital platforms for improved engagement, and the expansion of our recreational and professional development programmes,” Odunuga said.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Kensington Adebutu, represented by Owoseye Shonuga, commended the governor and encouraged the new executives to build on the progress made by their predecessors.

“I want to appreciate the governor for being kind to this club. I want to thank the past and present presidents for a job well done.

“The new president is a son of the soil, and we are sure that he will carry the club to a higher level during his tenure. I want to advise the incoming executive, if you can not exceed the level of the past executive, do well to be at the level of the past administration,” he said.

The highlight of the event involved the oath-taking and swearing-in of the new executive members by the governor.
