Gani Adams: Aareonakakanfo Title, A Motivator For More Commitment To Unity, Peace Of Yoruba Race

Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams has reaffirmed that restructuring remains the panacea for effective security in Nigeria, saying his position as the generallissimo has been a strong motivation for his commitment to unity, peace and progress of Yoruba race, which is the fundamental duty of the Aare Onakakanfo to protect the interest of the race.

Adams, who expressed his determination to strengthen the bond of unity and peace in Yoruba land gave the submission during the celebration of his 6th anniversary in Ikeja, Lagos.

Iba Gani Adams pointed out that the position of the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land is rooted in a history that was mostly celebrated in Yoruba land, adding that the celebration is key to the progress of the stool.

He restated his beliefs in the strength of the Yoruba, saying history has provided a prestigious place for the race to take its pride of place among all races.

“I will always protect the interest of Yoruba race, anytime, anywhere I am because that is the first and fundamental duty of the Yoruba generallissimo.

“What we are doing here today is never a jamboree, but a reflection of the sanctity and importance of the stool. It is not because we like partying but because it is the tradition of the position.

Adams maintained that the revered stool had a huge task of seeking peace and unity in Yoruba land, adding that restructuring remains the panacea for effective security in Nigeria, even as he pointed out that the appointment of the Aare -in- Council is to reposition the office of the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land for greater responsibility.

“We inaugurated three chieftains of the Aare in Council today and they are chief Oluwole Adedeji as the Jagunmolu Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Mrs.Alice Eniola as Yeye Gbareniyi and chief Sakiru Adedayo Omoyeni as the Opeluwa Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land.

“As the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land,I cannot do it alone, I will need people that can assist in making key decisions in the interest of the race.So the Aareonakakanfo chiefs in Council are products of my good office and they will complement my efforts and roles in advancing the course of the race.

Iba Adams, expressed gratitude to the Ooni of Ife,Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi for sending a powerful delegations from Ife to the event, even as he applauded the OyoMesi and other prominent Obas that graced the occasion.

The event, had in attendance over 100 traditional rulers across the southwest.
