Ijaw Cultural Fiesta 2024: There’s need to preserve Ijaw cultural heritage – GbaramatuVoice CEO, Abai
The CEO, GbaramatuVoice International, Mr. Jacob Brakere Abai, has said that the need for the preservation of the Ijaw cultural heritage, was one of the reasons behind the Ijaw Culture Fiesta 2024 held on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State.
Mr Abai added that another compelling factor for the programme was to foster unity in the Ijaw ethnic nationality regardless of the state or religion.
Megastarmagazine reports that the Ijaw Culture Fiesta 2024 was the first of its kind in the history of the Ijaw nation, bringing Ijaw music artistes and traditional dancers across different states of the Niger Delta and Lagos State together.

Mr. Abai, while noting that he believes in the transformative power of cultural exchange, said the fiesta was an avenue for the “world to witness the beauty, artistry, and uniqueness of Ijaw traditions. It’s an opportunity to share our story with a global audience.”
The CEO who noted that the fiesta was “a celebration of our identity and a concerted effort to showcase the beauty and resilience of the Ijaw people,” added: “Our cultural heritage is a treasure that deserves to be preserved and celebrated. The Ijaw Cultural Fiesta was a deliberate effort to ensure that our traditions, customs, and practices are passed down to future generations intact.”
